Salt Fork Sprint TRIATHLON

Saturday, May 20, 2023 7:30 A.M.

SWIM: The swim course is a ½ mile 1-lap (ST) counterclockwise loop course in Salt Fork Lake with participants starting in a time trial start every 3-5 seconds. Swim start is a feet first start from the boat dock. Wetsuits allowed.

BIKE: The 12.4 mile bike course is a challenging course with nearly 1500’ of climbing (on super smooth road within the park. Bring your climbing gears).

RUN: The 3.1 mile run course is an out and back course on the rolling roads within the park.

SALT FORK OLYMPIC AND HALF IRON TRIATHLONS

Sunday, May 21, 2023 at 6:30 A.M.

SWIM: The swim course is a 1.2 mile (Half Iron) 2-lap and .62 mile (Olympic) counterclockwise loop course in Salt Fork Lake. Swim start is a feet first start from the boat dock. Wetsuits allowed.

BIKE: The 4-lap 56 mile (Half Iron) and 2-lap 28 mile (Olympic) are both loop courses featuring VERY challenging terrain with the 56 mile course featuring over 4000’ of climbing (XT) on the on super smooth roads within the park. Bring your climbing gears.

RUN: The 2-lap 13.1 mile (Half Iron) and 1-lap 6.55 mile (Olympic) run courses are on the rolling roads within the park.

CUT-OFF TIMES

The official race finish for Sunday’s races is 2:00pm. The cutoff for the swim is 1 hour and 15 minutes after the start of the last wave. Any participant still in the water at this time will be disqualified and will not be permitted to continue with the race. The cutoff for the bike finish is 1:00pm. Any participant still on the bike at this time will be disqualified and will not be permitted to continue with the race. The cutoff for the run is 2:30pm. The cutoff for lap #1 on the run is 2:00 pm. Any participant still on the run course at this time will be disqualified and removed from the course. These cutoffs are in place for the athletes safety and it is critical that any participant that is disqualified adhere to the official’s call.

MEDICAL

There will be medical staff on site at the swim, bike, and run finish. Feel free to visit the medical unit if you feel for any reasons that you need their help. You will not be penalized for receiving medical evaluation. You will be withdrawn from the race if you require transportation or IV fluids. If you have been put on medications different from your medical question on the entry form please let us know at registration. It is very important that our medical staff knows all medication you are currently taking.

PARKING ON RACE DAY

There is plenty of parking at the Salt Fork Lodge on RACE DAY. The transition area is approximately 1/2 mile from the Lodge parking. All participants MUST park in the designated parking areas after entering the main entrance of the park. Parking closer to the transition is reserved for those with cabin reservations ONLY. Don’t drive into the cabin area unless you have a reservation. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. If you come on Saturday to check out the race site remember the American Triple-T participants will be racing from 8am to 12:30pm and 3pm to 6:30pm.
